Compilation of Industrial Parks allowed to attract the pharmaceutical industry in Northern Vietnam (updated 2024)
The pharmaceutical industry is one of the sectors listed in Vietnam’s list of prioritized special investment fields. However, industrial parks have specific policies for attracting industries, and not all areas are suitable for this sector. In the following article, VKI has summerized some IPs permitted to attract the pharmaceutical industry.
1. Project Name: Thai Binh Pharmaceutical – Biotechnology Industrial Park
- The project includes: manufacturing plant area, research and training area, medicinal plant research area, logistics area – port warehouse, technical infrastructure area, public service area, expert and worker housing area. It is estimated that when the project is operational, it will directly employ around 18,000 workers.
- Location: Quynh Phu District, Thai Binh Province
- Scale: 330 hectares
- Function: Pharmaceutical – Biotechnology Industrial Park combined with Research, Training, and Accommodation
- Description: The first Pharmaceutical – Biotechnology Industrial Park in Vietnam
- Progress Update: The project has been approved for investment.
- Special advantages for businesses: Products manufactured within the industrial park are expected to be given priority in bidding for Vietnam’s healthcare system, corporate income tax incentives, full-service for pharmaceutical businesses.
2. Project Name: Hoa Lac High-Tech Park
- Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is located in the western part of Hanoi, spanning Quoc Oai and Thach That districts.
- Location: Quoc Oai and Thach That districts, Hanoi
- Scale: Approximately 1,586 hectares
- Function: Education and Training Zone, Research and Development Zone, Software Zone, High-Tech Industrial Zone, Central Zone, Mixed-Use Zone, Residential Zone, Entertainment and Sports Zone
- Description: One of the three high-tech parks in Vietnam, alongside Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
- Progress Update: The project has attracted numerous investors. Some pharmaceutical companies investing in the area include HATAPHAR, CVI, MEDLAC PHARMA ITALY, CENTRAL PHARMACEUTICALS 28, OSHII PHARMACEUTICALS, etc.
- Special advantages for businesses: Tax incentives, corporate income tax, import-export tax, and other preferential policies provided by the state for high-tech parks.
3. VSIP Industrial Park System
- VSIP Industrial Park stands for Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park with large-scale projects located in major provinces/cities nationwide, including Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Binh Dinh, and Quang Ngai. VSIP attracts businesses to invest in various industrial sectors such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food and beverage, electronics, precision mechanics, and automation.
